Jason Drummond

Co-Founder and Partner

Jason Drummond is an active entrepreneur, investor, and business owner. Jason is a founder in a multitude of sectors, with a track record in technology, hospitality, cannabis, retail and energy.

Jason is passionate about supporting and promoting his home province of Saskatchewan. He has formed numerous local companies and brands such as Leo’s Hospitality Group which owns and operates 13 Leopold’s Tavern restaurants across the prairies, Victoria’s Tavern restaurant in downtown Regina, two Gud Eats plant-based restaurants, Path CoWork in downtown Regina, Farmer Jane Cannabis in Regina, as well as two venture funds with Sask roots – Broad Street Bulls and Green Acre Capital.

Jason is currently serving his fourth year as a board member of Economic Development Regina and his third year serving as Chair of the Council for Entrepreneurship Growth which created the Audacity YQR movement to promote and inspire local business owners and entrepreneurs. Broad Street Bulls was founded as an extension of Jason’s passion and apt to grow the local innovation economy in Saskatchewan.

Trevor Phenix

Managing Partner

Trevor Phenix is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor. In addition to continuing to support his own ventures, Trevor is currently utilizing his entrepreneurial, technical and financial expertise to support early stage start-ups from across the prairies in his role as Managing Partner of the Broad Street Bulls.

Prior to relocating back to Regina in 2019, Trevor spent the first 12 years of his professional career in Calgary working in various technical roles for organizations of all sizes, subsequently finding his passion in the entrepreneurial world. He has experience in growing businesses focused on software, construction & fabrication, resource development, and merger & acquisitions.

Trevor is the founder of TOP Analysis, a software platform that is focused on oil & gas technical data compilation and integration, which he recently led through a successful exit. He is the co-founder of Hive Innovations and Gemini Fabrication, companies that are focused on the development and deployment of off the shelf industrial solutions. These companies have proven that standardized designs and a fully integrated execution model are fundamental for the Canadian energy industry to remain competitive.

Trevor holds a P.Eng. designation in both Alberta and Saskatchewan, having graduated from the University of Regina with a Bachelor of Applied science in Industrial Systems Engineering.

Kalen Leflar

Analyst

Kalen Leflar is a recent graduate from the University of Regina’s Paul J. Hill School of Business. Kalen graduated from the university with distinction, receiving a BBA in Finance, a certificate in economics, and a certificate in Ideation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship. While completing his degree, Kalen has received multiple scholarships and additional distinctions based on his academic performance.

While in school, Kalen was heavily involved in a range of student groups. In his third year at the University of Regina, he became the President of UR Investing, a $2,000,000 student-managed endowment fund. Kalen was also a member of the Hill Business Student Society, a teaching assistant, a research assistant, and a competitor in several case competitions including JDC West and the CFA’s Regional Ethics Challenge, and the CFA’s Regional Research Challenge.

Kalen is passionate about growing the start-up ecosystem within his home province of Saskatchewan. He first joined Broad Street Bulls in January of 2022 as a Junior Analyst and has since completed 10+ deals for BSB VC Fund II.
